Two Rastamen, Jah Bull (Woolton Harrison) and Baboo (Llewelyn Samuda), drive around rural Jamaica selling LP (Long-Playing) Record Albums in the multi-coloured Roots Car. By chance, they pick up Farmer Roots (Louis Christie), a famous Radio DJ, with his sick girlfriend so as to get medical help for her. Based on their Rastafarian beliefs, Jah Bull and Baboo decide to take them to an alternative Natural Healer, but their quest is not as easy as they think and along their adventurous journey they meet upon various obstacles and interesting characters. Wah Do Dem is a feature length film that has caught my attention, even before knowing of the many awards that it has as well as the respected names that are involved in it. From the very title, you can deduce that it has significant connection with Jamaica. Very much so. Watching the trailers, you may get the sense of a quirky, funny film with some serious undertones. By the way, Carl Bradshaw, a veteran Jamaican actor looks as MAD as ever haha! Good addition I think, so as to add to the movie’s already strong credibility.
